Biography

Fatma Manyenze is an intern at Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. She obtained a BSc at the University of Nairobi in 2013, and is now studying for an M.Sc. degree at Pwani University.  She is interested in fisheries and ecology, and undertook a recent project to compare the composition and catch rates of fish caught by different types of baited and un-baited basket traps in Kenyan coastal waters. Her project in Estuarize-WIO is entitled “Characterization of the fisheries resources of the Tana Delta ecosystem, north Coast of Kenya”, and it falls into WP3 (Fisheries).
