Johan Groeneveld

Senior Scientist


Johan Groeneveld is a Senior Scientist at the Oceanographic Research Institute (ORI) in Durban, South Africa, where he leads a research unit focussing on multi-national fisheries research projects in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region. He is experienced in developing and implementing collaborative research and capacity building projects with individual scientists, NGOs-, governmental or private research institutes, including in South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar and the smaller island states. In Estuarize-WIO, Johan is the overall project leader and also responsible for coordinating activities in Work Package 3 (Fisheries).
